Beijing is getting more modern from time to time as it is the Capital of China. Forbidden city is a must for attractions in Beijing. Great wall is also a must as it is spectacular. It is a very different feeling when you actually climb up there. The stairs of Great wall are quite steep. Food is cheap and many hotels there are great with hot spring, and innovative design. There's a wealth of things to do in Beijing. I'd go to the Forbidden City again for sure. The eating in Beijing is fantastic.

I went to walk the Great Wall of China, and found many other things to do as well. January was good as the Great Wall was not crowded, and I was able to get photos both with, and without snow. Asia tours did some very cheap $20 a day tours and as well as seeing the Great Wall, we were taken to lunch and a couple of other venues... Jade factory, Ming Tombs, Silk Factory... all included in the full day tour price of $20. Read Full Review
