Overall
The hotel is a '60's lowrise building surrounded by mega glass structures. The lobby is small and so are the rooms. There's nothing fancy about the place but it's in downtown Dallas.

The immediate surroundings of the hotel aren't that great but it's a short walk to the business district & the West End shops & restaurants. The bus terminal is a couple of blocks away and so is the convention center.
You need a security card to get in the hotel after dark. Management suggests that guests enter the hotel through the back door at night. The Dallas Light Rail & Dart transit center is directly behind the hotel which is a plus and a minus. The minus is that a lot of street people hang out at the station and the plus is the area is highly policed. At night the area in front of the hotel is pretty desolate – best to take a cab back to the hotel.
