Nice price, but not impressive, actually embarrassing.
Ask to see the room before you accept the key. This hotel has many different types of rooms from the basic flop house to the fancy ones overlooking Grant Park.
The staff are clearly just putting out fires from this run down palace.
Really tired and old looking. Lots of white paint covering what appears to be years of water damage and old pipes.
The staff was helpful with concierge type information, very young and nervous.
They have one very smoky bar/lounge that looks like you could scrape the ciggarette tar off the walls.
Kids liked the little gift shop in the lobby.
This is a scary neighborhood. The front of the hotel is on Michigan Ave, so it's safe but don't venture out west of the hotel, or in Grant park at night.
Didn't have problems.
Very close to the Art Institute.
