Louis Riel was the founder of Manitoba – he was hung in 1885 in Regina. When the hotel opened in 1970, Riel’s name was on everyone’s lips, because of the centennial festivities of Manitoba. Its still the only all-suite hotel in the city and attracts many business travelers from the government as well as families who like the extra space, a place to cook and the personal service.
